A pair of "Milestones" in a nice Birds-Eye-Maple coat was something I had in mind for a long time. Now I found the time and spirit for it, so let's started. This time it will be published including the X-over schematics which is developed by "Marc Heijligers" (Holland) , and fine tuned over the last year's. Marc has put an enormous amount of spare time and energy into this X-over, and I can garanty it is a firts class loudspeaker in combination with this X-over. If you want to go deeper into the technical specs and/or history of Marc's journey, please visit his site;
There is also more information on the Dutch HTforum; (in Dutch)
This speaker needs a decent amplifier, so isn't suited for low power tube amplifiers. A good steady amplifier will bring this speakers to live, and wil deliver you a very high-quality of sound! I have heard this speaker in the past, when I visited Marc Heijligers at his home, and I must say it is astonishing how fast and powerfull these drivers are. It will produce a wide stereo immage, and very good 3-D accoustics, suitable for all kinds of music with no exceptions...

Pay attention;
This is not a beginners project, the cabinets are not that easy to make, and drivers / X-over parts won't be that cheap too.... So if you're planning to build a nice D.I.Y. speaker, and you're skills / budget aren't sky high, please start building a nice (monitor) stand mount speaker.

Including the 30mm high foot, this speaker measures almost 105cm high (some 41 inches), 26cm width (appr.10 inches), and 40cm depth (appr.15.75 inches)

Coils, use Jantzen wax coils found here, http://www.jantzen-audio.com/html/coils.html
Resistors, use Dueland carbon resistors, http://www.duelundaudio.com/Resistors.asp
Compared to other types, these components deliver a more coherent
and harmonic fluent sound.
Capacitors, use Audyn Cap Plus, except for the tweeter cap
this one should be Audyn Cap Plus Gold/Silver.
Where most other caps start to sound shrill or on the contrary
dull, these caps sound very live-like without an edge to the sound.
These are no general recommendations for components,
they work well in combination with the Thiel Ceramic units and the
Milestones filter.

Please don't ask me about the technical details about this X-over, as I haven't designed it myself. My knowledge about this is not sufficient enough to answer you're questions. More technical X-over info and details about damping (-materials) can be found on Marc's site; www.hifivoice.com
However for mechanical questions, I will try to help you.
