After I sold my Cleo 6 pre-amp seperately, I had to revise my EML 300B amplifier to a stand-alone amp. As this amp's gain is sufficient enough to operate on it's own, I decided to build in a volume pot. New pic's were made for this amp, showed on my exclusive made audio cabinet. This cabinet, together with the CD-rack cabinet is my favorite hand crafted eye-catcher!

New coax signal cables were inserted, which feed the input signal to a "Noble"100K Log potmeter. I like to use NOS Millitary components in my projects. Trough time I have gathered some serious stock of nice Mill.Spec. components, so this teflon coax (silver plated) was also suited for this project.  Click on the pic above, for a high resolution picture.

Mai 2011;

I've completed and reposted this amplifier which I love so much! The soundstage of this amplifier, comined with my Seas / OW1 monitors is so breath taking, I wish I could join you folks to hear it:) Last picture below shows this set in the dark.

Thanks for visiting!

I made a good quality connection on the pot's contacts, and assure a proper ground/shielding point (blue wires). Behind the volume knob there is a yellow LED mounted, which lichtens the knob in the dark.

Below;

Amplifier on duty, in front centre Philips NOS ECC35 tube, left- and rirht front D3a NOS Siemens tubes, rectifier tubes are NOS Mullard CV378 (GZ37), and 300B end-tubes are the well know beauties of Emission Labs, the 300B-Mesh tubes.

Together producing  goosebumps on my skin, when playing my favorite music!

Left picture shows a glimp of the inside cabinet. There is place for a CD-player on the bottom ,and for some CD's or remote controls on the panel above. AS can be seen, also the inner side of the cab is venered with nice Mahogany. The two doors are made from solid Birds-Eye-Maple, combined with Mahogany inlay's.
The CD tower (with "ears"), can stock some 100 CD's, approximately 20 pieces behind each door. They are sloping some 5 degrees backwards, doors are from solid hard Maple wood. Below a picture of the solid Birds-Eye-Maple foot, were the tower stands on.
Below picture shows the amplifier on my self made audio cabinet, which I made back in 2004. It was standing unemployed in a forgotten corner on my attick. I made this cabinet together with the CD rack pictured. Both furnitures are made of high valued solid/vernered Birds-Eye-Maple, combined with Mahogany wood. They were finished with natural oil.
I like these beautifull materials, in these days more often replaced by ugly and cheap plastic mass production audio gear....it's a disgrace!
The old alu frontplate was replaced by a new designed one. Which includes a power switch, power-on LED, and ofcoarse the volume knob. I choosed for a vintage look, matching the overall design of this amplifier, and audio cabinet. I used a vintage Volume guitar knob on front, and made two copper inlay strips left, and right from the center plate.The alu frontpanel is hold on place by 4 copper nails on the edges. See detail pic below.
